Armando Magaia launches Gramatka dzra Xizronga

 

Eduardo Mondlane University hosted the launch ceremony of the Ronga Language Grammar, entitled "Gramatka dzra Xizronga".

 This work is authored by Armando Magaia, professor at the Faculty of Letters and Social Sciences, which is an important milestone in the appreciation and preservation of national languages.

 The book began to be written in 2008, and throughout this process, the linguistic diversity of the time was used, and the younger ones were used experimentally to read what had already been written at the time, the author made it known. In addition, the author used the Portuguese language, later translating it into Ronga in order to standardize the grammar.

 Armando Magaia recalled that even though he became the first English teacher, Magaia was always passionate about his first language, Xizronga, recalling a moment when he learned English in his childhood through his father who was present at the event.

 It is important to note that all districts of Maputo are Va Ronga territories, with the exception of Magude.

 Present at the grammar launch ceremony were the Minister of Education, Samaria Tovela, the Rector of Eduardo Mondlane University, Manuel Guilherme Jr, the Director of the Faculty of Letters and Social Sciences, Samuel, professors from the Faculty of Letters and Social Sciences, university students and other participants in literature.
