The Malanga neighborhood, in the Boane district of Maputo province, was the scene of a tragedy that left residents in shock. An 18-year-old is considered the main suspect in the murder of his two younger siblings.
According to preliminary information, the crime occurred within the family, under circumstances that are not yet fully clear. After taking the lives of the two children, the suspect allegedly transported the bodies and threw them into a latrine in an attempt to conceal the crime.
Witnesses report that the victims' disappearance initially raised suspicions among family members and neighbors, who began searching the surrounding area. Hours later, the bodies were found inside the latrine, causing outrage and sadness in the community.
After the gruesome discovery, the suspect fled and, to date, his whereabouts remain unknown. Authorities believe the young man may still be in Maputo province, and efforts are underway to locate and arrest him.
The National Criminal Investigation Service (SERNIC) went to the scene to remove the bodies and begin the investigation. Technicians from the department collected evidence that may help clarify the case.
However, residents of Malanga claim they have never witnessed such a violent act in that area, appealing to the authorities to capture the suspect and hold him criminally responsible.
The motives for the crime remain unknown, while investigations continue to uncover all the details of this family tragedy that has shaken the district of Boane.
