AMEEA Gala 2025: Mozambican Women on the Stage of Transformation

The VIP Hotel in Maputo was the setting for an inspiring evening during the AMEEA 2025 Gala. The event celebrated the women who are redefining entrepreneurship in Mozambique, driving economic, social and cultural change and strengthening the bridge of cooperation between Africa and Europe.

With around 80 participants – including businesswomen, private sector leaders and international partners – the gala recognized the talent, courage and impact of several female entrepreneurs. The stories shared reflected the strength, creativity and resilience of women, serving as motivation for all those present to believe in the power of leadership and collaboration.

“Seeing so many inspiring women gathered in one room is proof that female leadership is transforming the country. The AMEEA Gala is not just a celebration, it is a commitment to change, to creating opportunities and to strengthening female entrepreneurship,” declared Anna Sousa, President of AMEEA-Mozambique.

The highlight of the evening was the awards ceremony, which celebrated excellence in several categories:

* Start-up of the Year: Marlena Chambule

* Community Impact Entrepreneur (Informal Sector): Lubaina Momade

* Reference Business: Ana Neusa

Entrepreneur of the Year: Amira Adam

* Inspiring Leader: Dario Camal

The founder and president of AMEEA, Isabel Manuel de Nascimento, was also present and announced a significant change in the organization's leadership: Anna Sousa will now assume the presidency of AMEEA Portugal.

Beyond the awards, the event emphasized the role of women as agents of change, promoting networking and dialogues that consolidate cooperation between the two continents. This initiative reaffirms AMEEA's central mission: to promote women's economic empowerment, strengthen women's leadership, and create lasting bridges of cooperation.

Through training programs, institutional partnerships, and advocacy efforts, AMEEA is thus establishing itself as an engine of inspiration and progress, placing women at the center of sustainable development in Mozambique and Africa.
