Activist denounces bribery and role reversal in trafficking case in Nampula

According to Pachoneia, the Commander of the 2nd Squadron had arrested a relative of a drug trafficker, but the mastermind behind the crime allegedly bribed an official from the Anti-Corruption Office to release the suspect and incriminate the officer.

Nampula City – A new version of events is circulating on social media in Mozambique regarding the actions of the Commander of the Second Police Station in Nampula, who was previously accused of receiving bribes. According to social activist Pachonea, the real story is the opposite of what has been reported, now involving an alleged bribery scheme within the Anti-Corruption Office (GCC) itself.

According to the activist's post, the squad commander acted within the law when he arrested the nephew of an individual known as "Apa." The young man was reportedly detained after following his uncle's orders to deliver a mobile phone, fifty thousand meticais, two bowls of methamphetamine (meta fina), and a quantity of seruma (a locally known drug) to third parties.

Pachonea's version indicates that the mastermind, "Apa," dissatisfied with the detention of his relative and the Commander's firm stance, then resorted to another method to resolve the situation. To free his drug-trafficking nephew and simultaneously divert attention, "Apa" allegedly bribed an official from the Anti-Corruption Office with four hundred thousand meticais.

The activist's accusation is serious: the money allegedly served to secure the release of the detainee from that police station and, furthermore, to orchestrate a disinformation campaign. The objective would be to confuse the media and public opinion, making it seem that the Commander led and benefited from the criminal scheme, when, in fact, he was responsible for the initial arrest.

In a tone of promise, Pachonea states that in the coming days he will publicly reveal the identity of the employee from the Anti-Corruption Office who allegedly received the bribe to manipulate the process.
