The newly appointed Secretary of State in the Province of Inhambane, ArséniaFelix HappinessMassingue appeals to non-profit organizations and religious denominations to be guardians of peace, harmony, and social cohesion. The appeal was made on Monday, June 29th, during the opening ceremony of the Awareness Seminar on the prevention and combating of the financing of terrorism.to safeguard national stability and sovereignty,which took place in the city of Inhambane.

In her speech, the governor took the opportunity to extend a special greeting to the President of the Republic, Daniel Francisco Chapo, for his leadership.Firm and committed to the uncompromising fight against violent extremism and terrorism in Mozambique.

"Terrorism destroys lives, devastates infrastructure, and threatens the social peace that we have worked so hard to build. To combat this evil effectively, it is not enough to act on the front lines. It is urgent to cut off the sources of funding that feed these criminal networks.", he emphasizedthe Secretary of State in the Province of Inhambane.

According to Arsénia Massingue,Non-profit organizations in general, and religious denominations in particular, carry out invaluable social and humanitarian work in Inhambane Province. "They provide assistance to the most vulnerable, promote education, health, and community development. However, the good faith that characterizes your actions, along with the legitimate movement of funds and donations, makes this sector vulnerable to attempts at infiltration, misuse, and manipulation by transnational criminal agendas," he acknowledged.

We cannot allow the faith and generosity of believers to be used to conceal illicit funds or to propagate extremist ideologies."

"Your responsibility is twofold: to know the origin of the funds and donations that support your congregations, and to continue to raise awareness in your communities, especially among our youth, against recruitment and radicalism.", he said.
