The Orthopedics and Medicine wards at Maputo Central Hospital are experiencing a significant increase in patients suffering from traffic accidents, particularly those involving collisions between cars and motorcycles. According to hospital sources, many injured patients arrive in serious condition, with fractures and internal injuries, which has overwhelmed the unit's services.

 The increase in these cases is associated with the lack of road traffic control during and after the post-election protests, which may have facilitated risky behavior by drivers. Health authorities and residents are calling for urgent intervention by the relevant authorities, with increased monitoring and awareness campaigns to curb the escalation in accidents.
