The Mozambican international and CS Marítimo captain, Zainadine Junior, was elected, by GolPOint Site, the best center of the First Round of LIGA NOS, season 2020/21, with 6.11 points.
Zainadine appears in front of centrals like Pep, the Luso-Brazilian and European champion for Portugal, currently at the service of FC Porto, Sebastian Coates, of Sporting CP, among other big names in Portuguese football.
The 32-year-old Mozambican is described as “one of the wisest central players to play in Portugal”, overcoming the barrier imposed by his 1.78m height, “since he won 70% of the defensive aerial duels he played”, he says GolPoint.
Further on, the website, analyzing each of the “magnificent 33” of the First Round of Liga NOS, in which three players were elected for each position, says that Zainadine Júnior “was the fourth best in relief within the area (4.1 / 90m) and combined good defensive records with an unusual number of dribbles attempted in his position (0.64 / 90m), with 100% effectiveness in those attempts ”.
Even then, Zainadine appeared on four occasions as the MVP, in recognition of his work within the four lines. It was used in 14 games of the Portuguese championship, corresponding to 1260 minutes, having only missed three matches in this competition. He has also missed two Portuguese Cup games and has a goal scored.
Zainadine Júnior, a graduate of Grupo Desportivo de Maputo, has been serving islanders since January 2017 from China, and very recently renewed his contract for 2022.
