The Mozambican driver Paulo Oliveira achieved an unprecedented qualification for the motorsport of the Pearl of the Indian Ocean: qualifying for the mythical Rally Dakar, according to the Mozambican Federation of Automobilism and Motorcycling (FMAM), on its official Facebook page.
In fact, Paulo Oliveira finished in the twenty-third position of the general classification of Rally de Andalucía, Spain, and second in his class, in a race that started on October 5th and ended on the 10th of this month.
Driving a KTM EXC-F, Oliveira in one of the stages of the race covered the 9 kilometers with the time of 8 minutes, 09 seconds, with the first call occupied by the British driver David Knight (Husqvarna FR 450 Rally) made the race in 06m50s.
”The goal we brought to this Ralky was qualifying for Dakar, we did it and it’s done, we will have the Mozambican flag in Dakar, in the largest Rally in the World. It was with a lot of sweat, sacrifice and hard work that we managed to get here, promises that we will work the same way to be present at the Dakar ”, said Paulo Oliveira after qualifying.
Thus, Paulo Oliveira becomes the first Mozambican driver to qualify for the Dakar Rally. (LANCEMZ)
